Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Effective 1 June 2026 · IP Enclosures UK Limited · Company No. 13240421
IP Enclosures UK Limited ("IP Enclosures", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal data, and your rights, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

1. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. We may collect:
  • Identity and contact data — your name, company or trading name, job title, email address, postal address, and telephone number;
  • Transaction data — orders, quotes, invoices, delivery details, and payment-related information (we do not store full card numbers; card payments are handled by our payment providers);
  • Account data — login credentials and preferences where you hold an account with us;
  • Technical and usage data — your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and activity on our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies; and
  • Communications data — records of your enquiries, correspondence, and feedback.

2. HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We collect personal data directly from you when you place an order, request a quote, create an account, or contact us; automatically through your use of our website; and from third parties such as credit reference agencies, your representatives, and publicly available sources.

3. LAWFUL BASES AND PURPOSES OF PROCESSING

Under the UK GDPR, we process your personal data only where we have a lawful basis. The bases we rely on are:
  • Performance of a contract — to supply goods and services, process orders and payments, arrange delivery, and manage your account;
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, improve, and secure our business, administer our customer relationships, and conduct direct marketing to business contacts, provided your rights do not override those interests;
  • Legal obligation — to comply with our legal and regulatory duties, including tax and accounting requirements; and
  • Consent — where required, for example certain marketing communications and non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We may share your personal data with third parties who support our business, including freight and delivery providers, payment processors, IT, website, analytics, and email-platform providers, credit reference agencies, professional advisers, and group companies. We require these parties to process your personal data only on our instructions and to protect it appropriately. We may also disclose personal data where required or permitted by law.

5. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Some of the recipients of your personal data, or parties who store or access it on our behalf, may be located outside the United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure a similar degree of protection by relying on one of the transfer mechanisms recognised under the UK GDPR, namely:
  • a transfer to a country that the UK has determined provides an adequate level of protection (UK adequacy regulations);
  • an International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, with the recipient; or
  • another safeguard or exception permitted under Chapter V of the UK GDPR.

You may request further information about the safeguards we apply to international transfers by contacting us using the details below.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
  • the right to be informed about how we use your personal data;
  • the right of access to a copy of your personal data;
  • the right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • the right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances;
  • the right to restrict processing in certain circumstances;
  • the right to data portability;
  • the right to object to processing, including processing for direct marketing; and
  • rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month, as required by the UK GDPR. Exercising your rights is normally free of charge.

7. DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure, including secure communication protocols (such as HTTPS), access controls, and system monitoring. Where we are required to do so, we will report a personal data breach to the Information Commissioner’s Office and, where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights, to you.

8. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.

9. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, preferences, analytics, and to improve your experience. Non-essential cookies are used only with your consent. You can manage cookies through your browser settings or our cookie controls, although some features may not function properly if disabled. We use Google Analytics to measure website use; Google operates under its own privacy policy available at google.com, and you can opt out using Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

10. COMPLAINTS AND THE ICO

If you have any concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first using the details below so we can address it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at www.ico.org.uk, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
